Welcome to my website where I post materials used in my high school English class elective called Video games as Literature.
Welcome to my class website! My name is John Kellogg, and I am an English teacher at Grants Pass High School in Oregon. I have been teaching an English class elective for the past 4 years called Video Games as Literature, and have been developing teaching materials for my class. It is my belief Video Games have the power to teach core concepts of English with their narratives, and can be analyzed as a medium just like traditional books or film.
I made this website to share my class resources, and hopefully show that Video Games can be used in an educational setting in a variety of ways. While I am primarily an English teacher, I will share whatever resources I can to help others start their own classes, and spread the analysis of great Video Game narratives.
For a small $5 fee you get access to every assignment, and material I have ever made for my class. Feel free to stop your subscription, and come back when an assignment strikes your fancy!

John Kellogg a licensed High School English teacher in the state of Oregon. I teach English at the Freshmen, and senior levels. My Video Games as Literature class is how I play, and plan most of my English based lessons.
As you can imagine, supporting a class that uses subscriptions like Xbox Game Pass can be expensive. If you would like to support my class, please become a "Classroom Gamer" on patreon to support future years of Video Game as Literature Students.
I am always looking for friends and partners to help grow my class. If you are looking for help in getting a class started at your school, or if you are a game developer yourself, I would love to hear from you!
